Our People

Michael Hume, Principal
Michael was admitted as a solicitor in 1979 and has since practised in many areas of the law. Studying mediation and negotiation at Harvard in 1990 Michael uses his refined negotiation skills in promoting your interests.

Michael has pursued a standard of business excellence in the delivery of legal services to clients throughout his career. As principal of Acclaim Legal he ensures we maintain our core values: Constant Improvement, Outstanding Service, Reliability and Respect and Empathy.

Michael is a trained Mediator and has a wealth of experience not just at the litigation coalface but also in dealing with people who have real, everyday problems that require practical, commonsense solutions.

Carmel Balogh, Conveyancing Manager
After completing a science degree, Carmel decided to take the obvious next step and join a law firm! With many years experience in conveyancing, wills and probate, Carmel uses her scientific analytical skills to make sure your matter runs smoothly and trouble free. Carmel brings a professional confidence to the office from which we all gain and learn.



Belinda Hume, Practice Manager
As practice manager one of Belinda’s tasks is to evaluate all Client Surveys, comments and feedback. With this knowledge Belinda reviews our service delivery and endeavours to improve efficiency in the work place to provide higher value legal services. Belinda ensures Acclaim Legal is continuing to improve our service to you.


Law Student & Graduates
Acclaim Legal often has a law student or recent law graduate on staff. The presence on staff of junior trainees increases our exposure to the changing young minds of the legal profession, allows cross fertilisation of ideas, provides assistance with research and an opportunity to build our practice parameters.
